RBL Bank IRCTC Credit Card: full review
The RBL Bank IRCTC Credit Card is a genuinely well-built card for its specific purpose: frequent IRCTC train travel. The 2.5% return on train bookings, 8 railway lounge visits a year, and real cancellation protection are hard to match elsewhere for a ₹500 fee. But its value narrows fast outside train travel, with only a flat 0.5% on general spending, so this only makes sense if IRCTC bookings are a genuine, recurring part of how you spend.

Pros and cons
Pros
✓ A real, genuinely useful 2.5% return on IRCTC train bookings specifically, where most general cards earn little or nothing
✓ 8 railway lounge visits a year is a strong number for a ₹500 fee card
✓ ₹5,000 cancellation protection and a transaction-fee reversal are practical, train-specific benefits few other cards offer
✓ Available on both Visa and RuPay, with RuPay adding UPI and metro/bus transit support
Cons
✗ Reward rate drops sharply away from IRCTC bookings: just 1 Reward Point per ₹200 (0.5%) on general spending
✗ Fuel, utilities, insurance, rent, education, wallets, government services and EMI conversions are all excluded from rewards and milestone benefits
✗ No stated annual fee waiver, unlike many lifetime-free competitors
✗ The welcome bonus and lounge access both depend on the annual fee being paid first
✗ Income and credit score requirements are not published for this specific card
