Axis Bank Select Credit Card: full review

The Axis Bank Select Credit Card is worth considering if you spend steadily on everyday retail and can reach ₹3 lakh a year: you get about 2% on up to ₹20,000 a month, 12 international lounge visits through Priority Pass, and a welcome bonus worth ₹2,000. The ₹3,000 fee, the spend-gated lounges and the 3.5% forex markup mean lighter spenders are better off with a lower-fee card.

Pros and cons
Pros
✓ About 2% on everyday retail spends up to ₹20,000 a month, double what Axis Privilege earns
✓ Priority Pass with 6 international visits a year, 12 with ₹3 lakh spend, which Axis Privilege does not offer
✓ Welcome benefit worth ₹2,000 offsets most of the ₹3,000 joining fee in year one
✓ Swiggy and BigBasket monthly discounts add real value for regular users
✓ Visa network with standard acceptance abroad
Cons
✗ ₹3,000 + GST fee is double Axis Privilege, and waiving it needs ₹8 lakh a year
✗ From 1 October 2026, insurance, utilities, telecom, gold, education, government, rent, fuel, wallet and gift card spends no longer count toward the ₹3 lakh needed for the extra 6 lounge visits and Priority Pass renewal
✗ Domestic lounge access is not automatic: it needs ₹50,000 spend in the previous 3 months
✗ 3.5% forex markup is the standard rate and not helpful for overseas spending
✗ Priority Pass is a physical card only, and extra or guest visits are billed to your card at about $15 to $25 per visit
✗ Interest of 3.75% a month (55.55% a year) makes carrying a balance expensive
