Days past due (DPD)

Days Past Due, or DPD, is the number of days a payment remains overdue after its due date, and it is reported to credit bureaus as part of your account history each month. A DPD of 0 means you paid on time; DPD 30, 60, or 90 reflect increasingly serious delinquency. Even a single missed payment reported as DPD 30 can noticeably lower your credit score, and the impact grows more severe the longer a payment stays unpaid.

Frequently asked questions
Most issuers report to bureaus around the same time each month, so a payment made even a few days after the due date, but before that reporting cycle, may not show as DPD at all. It varies by issuer, so paying by the due date is always the safest approach.
No, its impact fades over time as you build up consistent on-time payments afterward, though it does remain visible on your credit report for a period even after the effect on your score lessens.
