HDFC Bank PIXEL Play Credit Card: full review
The HDFC PIXEL Play is a strong low-fee cashback card for people who spend mostly online and through apps. Picking two 5% brand packs and a 3% e-commerce merchant lets you match it to where you actually spend, and because a CashPoint is worth a full ₹1, the rates are real cashback rather than points that lose value. The catches are the monthly cap on the 5% and 3% cashback, that the higher rates only apply at the named brands, and that it is closed to anyone who already holds an HDFC credit card.

Pros and cons
Pros
✓ Cashback worth ₹1 a CashPoint, the best redemption value among HDFC's cashback cards
✓ You choose your own 5% brand packs and can change them every quarter
✓ RuPay variant earns cashback on UPI spends
✓ Low ₹500 fee, waived on ₹20,000 spend in the first 90 days
Cons
✗ The 5% and 3% rates apply only at the brands in your chosen packs, not whole categories
✗ HDFC's page is unclear on the cap: one line says ₹500 a month each for the 5% and 3% cashback, its FAQ says 500 CashPoints a month for both together; we use the stricter combined cap
✗ You cannot apply if you already hold any HDFC credit card, and a closed PIXEL card cannot be re-applied for
✗ No lounge access
✗ 3.5% forex markup
✗ Fuel, rent, wallet loads, EMIs and government payments earn no cashback
