Overlimit fee

An overlimit fee is charged if your spending crosses your assigned credit limit, typically a flat fee (often around ₹500–600) charged when a transaction pushes your balance beyond the sanctioned limit. Many Indian issuers today decline transactions that would breach the limit rather than allowing them through and charging a fee, but this is not universal, and some cards permit a small buffer over the limit before declining, during which an overlimit fee can apply.
