CIBIL dispute

A CIBIL dispute is the formal process of flagging an error on your credit report, such as an incorrect balance, a closed loan still showing as open, or an account that is not yours, directly with CIBIL or through your lender. Under RBI rules, the bureau must resolve a filed dispute within 30 calendar days; if it is not corrected in that window, you are entitled to compensation of ₹100 per day until it is fixed, split between the lender and the bureau depending on where the delay occurred.
